Jesse grew up in Massachusetts and first moved to Maine to attend Bowdoin College. He graduated in 2008 and worked in Portland for a few years before pursuing a PhD in Developmental Psychology at the University of Pittsburgh, where his graduate work focused on early social and moral development. After graduating, Jesse returned to Portland and joined the Board of Maine Boys to Men in 2017. He lives in Portland with his partner Lydia, daughter Willa, and dog Beans.
