Your donation supports the unique programs of Maine Boys to Men that have been helping boys reach their potential to become emotionally healthy, respectful, non-violent men since 1998. We confront narrow gender assumptions that severely limit men and women. We empower boys and men to stand up as allies, with girls and women, to stop gender based violence.
Reducing Sexism and Violence Program (RSVP) is an innovative program that teaches boys and girls, age 13-17, to recognize attitudes and behaviors that can lead to gender-based violence. This program trains and empowers participants to safely intervene to prevent potentially harmful situations and to stand up as leaders in their communities.
Boot Camp for New Dads is delivered in partnership with hospitals in Portland and Brunswick. This program encourages men to be equal participants in the parenting of their children and prepares them to make informed decisions about what attitudes and behaviors they want to carry forward.
Community Conversations: Maine Boys to Men sponsors events that support parents and the larger community, nurturing the healthy, non-violent development of boys, with attendance ranging from 50 to 400 participants.
