Boot Camp for New Dads & Fatherhood and True Strength

Boot Camp for New Dads - Fatherhood and True Strength is delivered in partnership with Maine Medical Center, Mercy Hospital, and Midcoast Hospital.  Trained facilitators from Maine Boys to Men deliver this one-time, 3.5 hour workshop for expectant dads. They teach the new dads how to become more comfortable with their new role as a dad by learning important basic skills about caring for an infant and supporting their partner. This program encourages men to be equal participants as caregivers in the parenting of their children and prepares them to make informed decisions about what attitudes and behaviors they want to carry forward.

Boot Camp for New Dads is delivered once a month at each of the three hospitals.

Point of View
It was great to hear other dads to be concerns and knowing other people have similar thoughts.

After attending Boot Camp, I knew that even though my history wouldn’t provide me with much to
draw on, I could still be an amazing father to my son and an equal partner in raising him with my wife,
as long as I was willing to put in the hard work.

The class was a great atmosphere for learning and built confidence for me as a first time dad.
